Over one-third of ALL the energy produced in the world is consumed in overcoming friction.

Even modern internal combustion engines convert only one third of the energy in fuel into useful work.   The rest is lost to waste heat, the friction of moving engine parts or to pumping air into and out of the engine.

Film strength is what keeps oil molecules from being pushed away from each other under pressure.

Did YOU Know:  The nominal film-strength of conventional petroleum motor oil is approximately 400-PSI. 

Yet: The nominal film-strength of 100% full PAO synthetic motor oil is approximately 3,200-PSI that is an 8 times greater lower coefficient of friction  (in other words it takes more than 8 times as much pressure to squeeze PAO synthetic oil from between two surfaces than conventional mineral-based oil) which means...

The uniform diameter of synthetic oil polymers allows them to more easily and slide over one another.   The resultant reduction in friction shows up as more horsepower, torque, reduced internal engine wear and better fuel economy.

In the past, all marked and unmarked police vehicles would come in monthly for an oil change, lube, and safety check.   As a test, in 1993 we switched two marked Chevrolet Caprice vehicles over to 100 percent synthetic engine oil and extended their drain intervals to 20,000 miles, with a new oil filter installed at 10,000 miles.
